Barbara Prommegger is a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Munich. Philipp Reindl-Spanner is a PhD candidate at the Technical University of Munich.
 
You may choose not to take part and you may choose to stop taking part at any time. You will not be penalized in any way if you decide not to be in the study or to stop taking part in the study.

Study Purpose: The purpose of this research is to examine the user experience of smartphone applications.
 
Activities and Procedures: Your part in the study will be to look at a smartphone screen, and tell us some of your reactions and feelings.
 
Participation Time: It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete this study.
 
Risks and Discomforts: We do not think that there will be any risks or discomforts to you in this research study. However, there will be several questions that ask you to evaluate another person. If you don’t feel comfortable answering, you can withdraw at any time by closing the survey.

PROTECTION OF PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY
 
The results of this study may be published in scientific journals, professional publications, or educational presentations. We will NOT focus on any particular person’s hiring decisions. Instead, we will only report data aggregated across all participants. As such, we will do everything we can to protect your privacy and confidentiality. Your survey answers, as well as metadata, will be recorded, stored, and kept confidential to the extent allowed by the university's policy. No individual will be excluded from participation in this survey based on race, ethnicity, nationality, age, or gender. We will NOT tell anybody outside of the research team that you were in this study or what information we collect about you in particular. Identifiable information collected during the study will be removed and the de-identified information could be used for future research studies or distributed to another investigator for future research studies without additional informed consent from the participants or legally authorized representative. However, because online surveys can be completed from any internet-connected device,  we are unable to guarantee that your participation or responses will be confidential if the device you are using for this survey is being monitored.

Your personal information (collectively “information”) is being collected under the authority of the Technical University of Munich. The information you provide will be used by the University for the purpose of this research project, and for appropriate communication as required. Your information may also be used to contact you in the event that a draw is associated with the research project and you win the prize and/or you request other offers associated with the research project. Your information may also be disclosed to any co-investigators from other educational institutions (if applicable to this research project).  Your information will NOT be used or disclosed for other purposes.
